A couple years ago the Webster Parish Journal ran a series called “For the Kids.” Every week or so we’d profile somebody in our area who goes out of their way for local children. Coaches, church folks, business owners, people running after school programs. Teachers sometimes, but not always. The thing they had in common was they saw a need involving kids and they just filled it.

The series has been on hiatus for a while now. We want to bring it back.

But we need your help. The best people for this series tend to keep their heads down and do the work quietly. We don’t always know who they are, so we’re asking you to tell us. If you know somebody who gives their time or money to benefit local kids and never makes a fuss about it, send us their name and what they do. Email joshwbeavers@gmail.com . We’ll take it from there.
