A Cotton Valley woman is facing a litany of charges after allegedly forcing her way into an apartment Saturday afternoon and attacking an individual inside.

Cotton Valley police reportedly responded to a report of a disturbance in the 21000 block of Hwy. 371 just after 4 p.m. and found witnesses who identified Lakeisha Renee Washington, 46,  as the aggressor in the attack.

Police reportedly learned Washington entered the apartment, struck the male occupant with a metal broom handle and kicked him. A child reportedly was present during the incident.

Washington reportedly resisted the Cotton Valley officer until a Webster Parish deputy arrived to support the arrest. She reportedly was taken into custody and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

Charges against Washington include aggravated assault, battery of a dating partner with child endangerment, resisting an officer, home invasion, disturbing the peace and aggravated criminal damage to property. Her bond has been set at $55,001.

This information has been provided by a law enforcement agency as public information. Persons named as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
