A special meeting of the Dixie Inn Board of Alderman took place Tuesday, July 21 at Village Hall.

Aldermen unanimously approved the hiring of a new, full-time police office, Andrew Evans, who will work the night shift. The board also approved the purchase of all necessary safety equipment for the new officer.

Mayor Donna Hoffoss was given approval to sign a Letter of Engagement with Cook & Morehart for the 2025-26 audit.

The Village officers were given a $1,200.00 budget to purchase supplies for the “Back to School Bash” slated for Saturday, Aug. 1 from 2-5 p.m. at McClanahan Park (east side of Dixie Inn). Everyone in Dixie Inn is invited.

In other business, the Board approved the purchase of four new tires for the 2023 Ford Explorer.
