Driving with heavily tinted windows led local police to a more serious discovery and a Minden man is now in the parish prison on a narcotics charge.

Chief of Police Jared McIver said 29-year-old Jacarrion Noles, a resident of the 200 block of Marion St., was stopped by Officer Kendale Booker on East St. Wednesday for having window tint appearing to be darker than the legal limit.

While questioning Noles, the officer reportedly detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Noles reportedly admitted to the officer he had recently smoked marijuana.

He also reportedly admitted Ecstasy was inside the vehicle when he was informed the officer would be conducting a probable cause search. Inside the center console, nine Ecstasy pills reportedly were discovered.

A test of the vehicle’s window tint showed a five percent light transmission; 25 percent is the legal minimum allowed under law.

Noles is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where he is charged with possession of CDS Sch. I (Ecstasy) and violation of window tint. No bond has been set.
