Body found north of Minden

Webster Parish investigators are trying to identify a body discovered Sunday in a heavily wooded area near the Blue Run Rd. north of Minden.

Sheriff Jason Parker said the body of a white male was found by two individuals walking a creek bank east of Willard Ray Rd. Dispatchers reportedly received a medical call at 5:42 p.m.

Parker said the body was badly decomposed and no identification was found.

“We estimate the body has been there anywhere from five to six days, and with the temperatures we’ve had over that period, identification is almost impossible,” the Sheriff said.

Parker said no missing persons reports have been filed. The body reportedly has been sent to Little Rock, AR, for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

“Our investigation is ongoing. We hope a medical examiner’s report can identify this person,” Parker said.
