A minor traffic offense Monday afternoon observed by a trio of law enforcement officers turned into the drug-related arrest of the driver and her passenger.

Webster Parish Sheriff’s Major Bobby Igo III, Lt. Charles Wimberly and Sgt. Josh McCormick reportedly were driving on East and West St. when they observed a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Jimette Adele Wilcher of Sibley commit a stop sign violation.

Wilcher’s vehicle was stopped by the trio at the intersection of Sullivan and College streets where, during a roadside interview, a small bag of methamphetamines was found in the purse of the passenger, Rochelle Allen Nugent, 54, of Arcadia.

A small plastic bag of methamphetamines along with a glass pipe containing methamphetamine reportedly was found on the person of Wilcher. 

Wilcher is being held at the parish jail charged with possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines), possession of drug paraphernalia and the traffic violation. Her bond is set at $2,502.

Nugent was also booked into the parish jail for possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines), possession of drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding warrant. Her bond is also set at $2,502.

This information has been provided by a law enforcement agency as public information. Persons named as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
