The 71st annual Springhill PRCA Rodeo is set to return with a full week of competition, community traditions and family-friendly entertainment at the Springhill Rodeo Arena.
Rodeo Week begins Saturday, Sept. 12, with a brisket and rib cook-off. Events continue Monday, Sept. 14, with team roping, followed by a barrel race Tuesday, Sept. 15, and a mutton bustin’ qualifier Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The main rodeo performances begin Thursday, Sept. 17, following the traditional parade down Main Street at 5:30 p.m. Gates at the arena will open at 6 p.m., and the first performance will begin at 7:45 p.m.
Families will take center stage Friday, Sept. 18. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., the Kids Rodeo begins at 6 p.m. and the second PRCA Rodeo performance starts at 7:45 p.m.
The week concludes Saturday, Sept. 19, with the third and final performance. Gates will open at 6 p.m., followed by the rodeo queen coronation at 7 p.m. and rodeo action at 7:45 p.m.
Now celebrating more than seven decades, the Springhill Rodeo continues a longstanding community tradition that brings residents and visitors together for several days of Western sports, local pride and entertainment.
Attendees that purchases tickets at the gate, concession stands and beverage carts will be cash only. Rodeo tickets may also be purchased in advance at springhillprcarodeo.com.
Guests are encouraged to bring a chair, seat cushion or blanket, as the arena’s bleachers are made of concrete.
