Glenbrook 7 — Bossier 34

The Apaches may have left Bossier with a 34–7 loss, but they also left something else behind: a whole lot of evidence that this is NOT the same Glenbrook team we saw in Week 1. The Apaches came ready to scrap, and early on, they had the Bearkats feeling more like they were trapped in a cat fight than cruising to a win.
Captains Franklin The Tank Bridwell, Aiden The Hammer Nehls and Rowdy Ryan Reagan led the charge, while the Apache defense spent the night making Bossier earn every yard. And the tackle sheet tells the story:
Senior leader, Huddy Hudson Glasscock led the way with 8.5 tackles, followed by Luscious Louie Collins with 7.5, DayDay Davis Powell, who was ALL OVER THE FIELD collected 7. DayDay also set the Apaches up with excellent field position with hard fought kick returns. To round it out, Rowdy Ryan Reagan had 5 solo tackles including a touchdown saving tackle on a 6’7” 290lb tight end with the Swiss Army Knife-Tanner Cox(our 1240 KASO Player of the Game), Colt The Jolt Jellum and T-Bubba Davis Edwards each added 4 tackles or more, with T-Bubba also grabbing a huge interception. Freshman phenom, Action Ace Rollen joined him in the turnover department with a spectacular pick in the end zone against a 6’6” receiver, turning what looked like a Bearkat touchdown into an Apache touchback.
The defense also forced two fourth-down stops with gang tackling, and Bad Bruce Bonnette delivered a MONSTER sack to help keep the Bearkats honest. I’d venture to say the Bearkat QB had nightmares of Bonnette barreling through him!!
The Apache offense showed some serious Week 1-to-Week 2 improvement.
Quarterback -The Bull-Braxton Tibbitt was sharp, completing 14 of 22 passes for 136 yards — a 63.6% completion rate. He repeatedly found the power forward-CP-10, Carson Powell and Brayson The Burner Festervan to keep drives alive, while Darron Hollywood Hollingsworth made things happen with the ball in his hands.
And then there was Kryptonite Kleaton Davis. Kryptonite exploded for 107 rushing yards on just 7 carries, including a ridiculous 62-yard touchdown run.
That’s not a typo. Seven carries. 107 yards. We knew Davis had speed, but that man showed “run from the cops” speed…………….
The Apaches repeatedly wrapped on Bossier’s front door, getting inside the Bearkat 10-yard line five different times, and inside the 25 another three times. Unfortunately, the Apaches kept arriving at the red zone like a kid at Shug’s…
…and then forgot their wallet.
The biggest challenge now is simple: finish the drive.
The Apache fight, however, never left! The first half ended with Glenbrook threatening three times inside the Bossier 10 but unable to cash in, leaving the Apaches down 8–0. The Apaches also lost their star center and outright team leader, Frank The Tank Bridwell, who went down late in the first quarter. The Swiss Army Knife, Tanner Cox was the next man up and filled in nicely!
Bossier opened the second half with a long scoring drive to make it 16–0, after converting a 3rd down and cab ride from backyard football, but your Apache War Party answered with a drive powered by Tibbitt’s arm and big catches from Powell and Festervan, pushing all the way inside the 5.
Again, the Apaches couldn’t finish.
Then the defense forced another punt, giving Glenbrook the ball around midfield. Hollywood Hollingsworth ripped off 20 yards on a perfectly executed wide receiver screen, and suddenly the Apaches were threatening again inside of the Bearkat 20.
A sack stalled the drive. Then T-Bubba Edwards picked off another Bearkat pass, that gave Glenbrook new life.
Unfortunately, the Apaches couldn’t capitalize, and Bossier eventually broke the game open late.
There were also a few moments that had the Apache sideline reaching for the referee’s hotline—including a controversial no-call on a potential Hollingsworth touchdown when he appeared to be pushed out of bounds before the ball arrived and several Zebra huddles that the discussion appeared to be whether to add Hot Honey on their postgame Flying Heart Pizza or not, instead of what took place on the field. Obviously, folks, joking all in good fun. With the official shortage in the LHSAA, this crew was doing their best. However, the “no-call” was Bossier’s best defender of the night.
There were a ton of positives to take away from Thursday night’s battle. The Apaches fought. They tackled. They hit. They created turnovers. They moved the football. They ran the ball. They threw the ball. They repeatedly put themselves in position to score.
And they did all of it while injuries and cramps were piling up and the game was getting away from them. That’s progress.
The Apaches still have work to do—finish drives, wrap up tackles, especially the many missed that were for a loss, and eliminate the big plays—but those are fixable things. And believe me, this outstanding coaching staff for the Apaches will do just that!
What isn’t something you can simply teach or coach is heart. Glenbrook brought plenty of that to Bossier.
Week 1 showed us an Apache team trying to find its identity. Week 2 showed us a team starting to discover it.
The Apaches took a tough one on the chin Friday night. But they never stopped swinging.
Keep fighting, Apaches. The scoreboard may not have shown it, but the film is going to tell a much more encouraging story.
The Apaches will stay on the road for this strong 3-week stretch to face off against a Div 1-5A contender, The Haughton Buccaneers.
