Candidates seeking federal, state and local offices met with area residents during the Greater Minden Chamber’s Coffee with the Candidates on Thursday, September 17.
Held at the Webster Parish Council on Aging, the event provided voters with an informal opportunity to learn more about the candidates who will appear on the November 3 ballot. Instead of following a traditional forum or debate format, attendees were able to move around the room, ask questions and speak directly with candidates over coffee.
Candidates representing several races attended the event, including those seeking seats in Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District, Louisiana Public Service Commission District 5, Minden City Council, the Minden police chief’s office and multiple Webster Parish School Board districts.
The gathering gave voters the chance to discuss local concerns, hear directly from candidates and become more familiar with the choices they will make at the polls. It also allowed candidates to listen to residents and better understand the issues affecting families throughout the community.
The Greater Minden Chamber organized the event as part of its Minden Votes 2026 initiative, which is designed to help local voters stay informed and engaged throughout the election season.

Early voting will be held October 20 through October 27, excluding Sunday, October 25. Early voting locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Events such as Coffee with the Candidates give community members a valuable opportunity to become informed before voting and remind residents of the importance of participating in the decisions that shape Minden and Webster Parish.
