Two killed, one injured in two-vehicle DeSoto Parish crash

Stonewall – On September 18, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 171 near Louisiana Highway 3276. The crash claimed the lives of a 43-year-old man and a 63-year-old man, both of Stonewall. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on U.S. Highway 171. At the same time, a 2000 Volvo VNL was traveling north on U.S. Highway 171. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet made a left turn and collided with the Volvo.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office arrests New Orleans predator for child sexual abuse material and sexual abuse of an animal

74-year-old Thomas Patrick Christopher Holman, of Zimpel Street in New Orleans, was arrested on September 16, 2026, on the following charges:
(50 counts) Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13
(12 counts) Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
(6 counts) Sexual Abuse of an Animal
The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) opened a proactive investigation into the active sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on a Peer-to-Peer network.
LBI along with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) determined the suspect shared multiple videos of CSAM over the course of several months from his residence in New Orleans. Agents executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence and discovered multiple devices containing CSAM.
This arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, New Orleans Police Department, Kenner Police Department, St. Charles Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Holman is currently booked into the New Orleans Parish Prison.
New Orleans man arrested for setting fire under Interstate 10

Orleans Parish (September 21, 2026) – State Fire Marshal investigators arrested Isaac Lee Washington, 42, of New Orleans, for Simple Arson and Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence after he set a fire under the eastbound I-10 overpass at Crowder Boulevard in New Orleans on Saturday.
“In this case, a fire under a major traffic artery could have shut down a key highway and disrupted thousands of travelers and first responders,” said DPS Principal Assistant Chief Bryan Adams.
The New Orleans Fire Department responded to I-10 at Crowder Boulevard at 7:23 p.m. on September 19, 2026, and requested assistance from the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal (SFM).
SFM Investigators determined Washington intentionally set the fire and arrested Washington on September 20.
