A south Webster Parish man was stopped on Interstate 20 by Minden Police and arrested on more charges than speeding.

Kendrick Weathers 37, of the 500 block of Art Camp Road, Heflin, was stopped by Officer Kendall Booker Thursday when he was observed traveling 83 miles per hour in a posted 70-mile per hour zone.

Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said Booker noted signs of impairment including slurred and incoherent speech and glassy eyes.

“There was a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath and person,”McIver said. “During a search, four individual bags containing marijuana totaling approximately 16 grams, were loaded in the center console.”

Weathers reportedly admitted to the marijuana and also open container.

He was charged with Max Speed, DUS while convicted of other offense, DWI, possession of Marijuana and open container.

In January 2021, Weathers was found guilty of DWI, second defense in Webster Parish Court.
