Shreveport Police seek man accused of domestic violence against pregnant woman
Shreveport Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a domestic violence attack on a pregnant woman in front of an infant. The incident comes as the department reports domestic violence calls have reached a five-year high in 2026, with more than 2,124 calls received so far this year. AG’s office arrests co-conspirators on several crimes against children
41-year-old John Randall Crooks, of Q Stockman Road in Deville, was arrested 9/28/2026 for the following charges:
- Count(s) 882 of 14:81.1 Pornography involving juveniles
- Count(s) 412 of 14:89.3 Sexual abuse of an animal
The arrest stems from evidence uncovered during a prior investigation that began in November 2021. Continued investigation from that case revealed that Crooks possessed additional CSAM and was receiving CSAM produced by a co- conspirator also arrested as part of this investigation. Crooks was out on bond from his previous charges in Rapides Parish. This arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Residential fire claims the life of a Pointe Coupee Parish man
A 36-year-old Jarreau man has died following a residential house fire. Pointe Coupee Fire District 3 responded to the fire in the 5600 block of Woodview Lane in Jarreau around 3 p.m. on September 27, 2026. Unfortunately, the fire claimed the life of a Pointe Coupee Parish man. Pointe Coupee Fire District 3 requested the investigative services of the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFM).
