Minden Police arrested a Minden man on drug charges after an officer observed and recognized him from active warrants.
Heath L. Williams, 38, of the 600 block of Timothy Dr., Minden, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and two active bench warrants.
Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said Officer First Class Cody James reportedly observed Williams as he passed on Shreveport Road, recognized him and initiated a traffic stop.
“During a pat-down search of Williams, the officer located two rolled synthetic marijuana joints inside his hat and a package of JCB rolling papers in his left pocket,” McIver said. “A search of the vehicle was conducted and in the glove box he located a plastic bag containing a white, crystal-like substance consistent in appearance to methamphetamine.”
OFC James reportedly located two plastic bags containing a green, leafy substance consistent in appearance and odor of synthetic marijuana.
No bond reportedly was set on any of the drug charges, nor the bench warrants one of which was for running a stop sign and another possession charge.
