The Young Women’s Service Club (YWSC) of Minden is asking local residents to help shine a spotlight on the people who quietly make a difference throughout the community.
The organization has launched its YWSC Community Hero recognition, a weekly initiative designed to celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to serve others and make Minden a better place to live.
Community members are invited to nominate someone they believe deserves recognition, whether through volunteer service, helping neighbors, supporting local causes or simply demonstrating a consistent willingness to help others.
According to the YWSC, nominees should demonstrate a heart for the community, a commitment to going above and beyond in serving others and a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
A YWSC Community Hero of the Week will be announced each Friday.
The initiative gives residents an opportunity to recognize people whose contributions may not always receive public attention while highlighting the many different ways individuals serve the Minden community.
Those submitting a nomination are asked to provide information about their nominee and explain why they believe that person deserves to be recognized.
Nominations can be submitted through the organization’s online form:
Through the weekly recognition, the Young Women’s Service Club hopes to celebrate the people whose acts of service, kindness and community involvement help make a positive difference in Minden.
