Former Southwood High School band director indicted on federal child pornography charges

A former Southwood High School band director has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges involving the sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography. Lennard Holden, 50, of Shreveport, was indicted Oct. 8, according to an announcement Tuesday from U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller. Federal prosecutors allege Holden asked a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct and produce a video. The FBI is seeking information from additional potential victims, particularly former Southwood band students between 2011 and 2026. Holden faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison if convicted of all charges. The allegations have not been proven in court, and Holden is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
