An investigation into suspicious activity inside an R.V. park has netted the arrest of a Sarepta man on drug and weapons charges.
Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said Sheriff’s investigators and Sarepta police executed a search warrant at a site in the 5900 block of LA Hwy. 2 just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Following a search, 24-year-old Kaden Ryan Taylor was taken into custody.
During the search of Taylor’s camper, officers reportedly found three large plastic bags of suspected marijuana, a glass jar of suspected marijuana and one brick of suspected hashish. Approximately $5,800 in cash and a .380 caliber handgun were also located.
A search of Taylor’s vehicle revealed 20 suspected Xanax pills inside a plastic baggie in the driver’s door pocket.
Officers noted the suspected narcotics were inside the camper which was parked approximately 640 feet from a school campus in violation of drug free zone laws.
Taylor was charged with possession of CDS Sch.I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of CDs Sch. IV (Xanax), possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS and possession of CDS inside a drug-free zone.
He is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. Bond has not been set.
“This arrest was the result of a very efficient combined effort between our investigators and Sarepta police,” said Maj. Bobby Igo III. “Everyone worked hard to gather evidence and bring this to a successful conclusion. We also want to thank the public for providing us with information which initiated the investigation.”
