North Webster falls in 2OT

North Webster  32
Jonesboro-Hodge 34

North Webster could not match Jonesboro-Hodge in the second overtime of Friday’s thriller at Baucum-Farrar Stadium.

The Knights answered a Tiger score in the second extra period and lined up for a must-have two-point conversion to send the contest into a third OT. North Webster’s Jamarcus Stephens got the call, lining up at running back and barreling down near the goal line where he was swarmed by Jonesboro-Hodge defenders.

Despite a valiant effort, Stephens came up one foot short of the goal line, sending North Webster’s record to a surprising 2-3 with a 34-32 loss.

Jonesboro-Hodge improved to 4-1 with the win.

Stephens had a pair of touchdowns and added a pair of interceptions for the Knights defense. The Knights also got a rushing score from QB Collin McKenzie and for the second straight week Jacobreious Walker returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

North Webster now finds themselves on a three-game losing streak entering district play next week at home against Bossier.
