Webster Parish Fair kicks off Tuesday

The weather may not always be fair, but one thing you can count on: with the exception of 2020 and Covid, the Webster Parish Fair will be here every October, fair and square.

As always, a parade at 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, will kick off the annual event (line-up is 3:30 p.m.) At publication time, parade entries were still being accepted. Call Donnie Irby at 377-6250 for more information.

Daily events at the Webster Parish Fairgrounds (unless otherwise stated) are as follows:

Tuesday, October 5 (Gate fees $1 and $1 rides)
5 p.m. Fair parade, downtown Minden
5 p.m. Livestock weigh-in
6 p.m. Poultry and Rabbit Show
6 p.m. Live Entertainment (Echota Records)

Wednesday, October 6 (Gate fee $2/rest of week)
9 a.m. until noon Special Kids Day
5 p.m. Fair Gates open “Armband Nite”
6 p.m. 4-H Swine Showmanship then Swine Weight Classes (livestock arena)
7 p.m. Live Entertainment

Thursday, October 7
9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Senior Citizens Day at the Minden Civic Center
5 p.m. Fair Gates open “Armband Nite”
6 p.m. 4-H Goat, Lamb, Beef Showmanship
7 p.m. 4-H Dairy and Doug Sale Showmanship
7 p.m. Live Entertainment

Friday, October 8
11:30 a.m. Buyers’ Luncheon
1 p.m. Livestock Auction (4-H barn)
5 p.m. Fair Gates open
7 p.m. LIve Entertainment (Justin Armstrong)

Saturday, October 9

Noon Fair Gates Open
1 until 5 p.m. Live Entertainment (Karaoke Contest by Echota Records)
1 until 5 p.m. Kids Day! (Five rides for $5)
2 p.m. Pizza Eating Contest sponsored by Johnny’s Pizza
7 p.m. Live Entertainment
