North Webster falls to Bossier

The North Webster Knights dropped yet another heartbreaker, this time to the Bossier Bearkats, by a final score of 40-28.

In a back-and-forth contest that featured big plays on both sides, it was Bossier who struck the final blow, dropping the Knights record to 2-4 on Homecoming night.

The Bearkats leaped out to an early 16-0 lead before North Webster got back in it with a pair of long drives to make the score 16-14. Then Jamarcus Stephens made a highlight reel interception near the goal line and raced 100 yards for a pick six to give the Knights a 20-16 halftime lead.

It was a lead North Webster could not hold, as the offense stalled on the second half’s opening possession and Bossier struck, even getting a pick six of their own at one point to take a 32-20 lead.

The Knights added another score but could not come up with a key stop late in the fourth.

North Webster will try to rebound next week in a Webster-Parish rivalry game with the Lakeside Warriors.
