A disturbance in progress led Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies to an apartment complex south of Sibley on Hwy. 371 around 4 p.m. Thursday where they confiscated guns, magazines and ammunition.
Sheriff Jason Parker said several male subjects fled the scene as deputies arrived.
“We did a grid search but were unable to locate them,” Parker said.
Parker said he suspects the guns were stolen and is working with other law enforcement agencies to confirm it.
“We are getting prints from the guns, which had extended magazines,” the sheriff said. “Those hold more bullets. We are checking for DNA, also.”
Parker said deputies also confiscated the hoodies with “Train To Step” on them.
“TTS is a local gang that has been terrorizing our community and surrounding parishes for a while,” Parker said.
“Even though we haven’t made any arrests yet, we feel like this is a win for us, getting these weapons off the street,” he continued. “We will be sending them off for ballistics, and I’m confident we will catch these people.”
If anyone has information concerning the weapons or the male suspects that escaped, please call the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-377-1515.
