Lakeside High School teacher Josh Utley will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, Nov. 11 meeting of the Minden Lions Club.
Utley, who teaches agriculture, will speak to Lions about the importance of Ag programs in state high schools. He believes that all students taking Ag could spark an interest for some that would have never been realized without the curriculum exposure. More people taking Ag would possibly turn into more skilled workers making higher wages and provide a better workforce for Louisiana business and industry.
Utley is a Minden High School and Louisiana Tech graduate.
The Minden Lions Club meets Thursdays at noon at the American Legion Memorial Home, located at 119 Pine St. in Minden.
