Last week’s Adult & Teen Challenge fundraiser may have fallen short of its goal, but Director Andy Jenkins feels the banquet was a success and they are blessed.

“We had a tremendous turn out, and we believe everyone had a good time,” he said.

Jenkins said the banquet helped them educate the community about the organization’s needs.

“We believe that there will be continued support as a result of the banquet,” he said.

Adult & Teen Challenge provides Christian faith-based, residential care to young people and adults who struggle with life-controlling problems.

The programs are typically 12-18 months and consist of individual and group Biblical studies, work projects, education (for adolescents), recreation and more. Many aspects of the program differ slightly between centers, such as cost, application processes and day-to-day activities.

Minden’s Adult/Teen Challenge’s headquarters is located at 100 Meadowbrook Drive.
