Minden Police have arrested a local man on drug charges after a phone call from his brother.

Michael O. Peters, 62, of the 600 block of Midland St., Minden, is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Chief Steve Cropper said Lt. Chris Hammontree and Off. Benjamin Sparks were called to the Midland Street address by Peters’ brother, who claimed Peters was smoking crack in the house they share.

“The brother said he wanted Michael and his drugs removed from his house,” Cropper said. “Peters denied drug usage, but officers could smell the odor of burnt Marijuana.”

Peters gave consent to search his room. Officers reportedly found a pill bottle with the label removed, a green leafy substance believed to be natural Marijuana on a desk in plain view, a crack pipe, Meth pipe and four rocks of crack cocaine. It later reportedly field tested positive for cocaine that weighed .2g.

“Michael knew the items were there and confirmed the rocks were cocaine,” said the chief.
