Springhill man caught napping

By Bonnie Culverhouse

Taking a nap on someone else’s property landed a north Webster Parish man in jail.

Charles A. McDaniel, 47, of Springhill, was arrested April 5 for possession of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, marijuana and cocaine, as well as criminal trespass.

According to Police Chief Will Lynd, two of his officers responded to a report of an unknown subject sleeping in a shed that belonged to a North Street homeowner.

“The homeowner did not know the man, who was identified as McDaniel, nor did he have permission to be in the shed,” Lynd said. “McDaniel was removed from the shed and detained for police investigation.”

A police search of the area where McDaniel was sleeping, reportedly revealed one small plastic bag filled with methamphetamine, one small plastic bag with synthetic marijuana, one small bag with marijuana, laced with cocaine.

McDaniel was booked at the Springhill city jail and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
