Lakeside takes double header

Lakeside had back-to-back wins Monday over North Caddo.

Lakeside 9, North Caddo 2

In the first game of a summer ball double header Monday, Lakeside Warriors cruised to an easy victory over North Caddo Titans 9-2.

Lakeside got things started in the first inning when Hunter Sutton singled on a 1-2 count, scoring overrun.

Sutton pitched the Warriors to victory. The righty surrendered zero runs ononehitover one inning, striking out two and walking none. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief. Eli Santelices, Peyton Gray, Matthew Aguilera and Eli Campbell secured outs and ultimately the victory.

Lakeside collected six hits on the day. Campbell and Sutton each had multiple hits. They managed two hits to lead the Warriors.

Lakeside 10, North Caddo 4

In the second game, Lakeside weathered a push by the Titans in the first inning where Lakeside coughed up three runs. The Warriors still took the win 10-4.

The Warriors pulled away with two runs in the third inning, when Jon Jon Dick drew a walk, scoring one run and Cade Boley’s sac fly scored one.

Lakeside scored three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by C.J. Watts and Jordan Isbell and a double by Bradley Dick.

Boley was the winning pitcher for the Warriors. The right-hander allowed no hits and no runs over one inning, and no walks.

Dick started the game for Lakeside. The southpaw went on inning allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one. He also led the Warriors with two hits in three at-bats.The team tore up the base paths, as two players tole at least two bases. Dick led the way with two.
