Minden’s favorite grilling competition is back for the sixth year. National Barbeque Grillers join this sanctioned event for a chance to win a piece of a $10,000 payout.
Friday and Saturday, June 10 and 11, will be filled with grilling, barbeque tasting, a Cornhole tournament, live music by David Daniels, DJ John Cook, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors and even fireworks.
“Because of community spirit and volunteers, Grilling on Main is always successful, and generally runs itself,” said Minden Mayor Terry Gardner.
And for the second year, the Little Grillers Children’s competition will be joining the fun.
“That part of the event is better than ever,” Gardner added. “They will be on Pearl Street.”
Held in Gibsland Bank’s downtown parking lot, the Cornhole tournament is “over the top.”
“This year, it will be specially run by an outside company that knows what they are doing,” the mayor said. “GBT is the title sponsor, and it will be professionally done with scoring kept on phone apps.”
