Pets, fire department benefit from Bingo

Do you love dogs? Do you love Bingo? In that case, a local animal rescue has an entertaining fundraising event this Saturday that combines both.

LaMa Animal Rescue will have their annual Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday, July 23. LaMa is a local non-profit, no-kill animal shelter: one of the few rescues to serve Webster Parish. The volunteer rescue group is based in Springhill.

According to Michelle Benson Lewis, the President and Co-founder for the rescue, “LaMa Animal Rescue Annual Bingo Fundraiser helps us to continue our mission of advocating for the many homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Webster Parish and surrounding areas.”

Some of the community programs include a free vaccination clinic sponsored by Petco Love and a strong focus on spaying/neutering education. The rescue also helps to transport adoptable pets to no-kill partner shelters in northeastern states.

The Bingo Fundraiser will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the CAC Building in Springhill. It’s $20 to play and there will be lots of entertainment and prizes, including a $250 jackpot. Organizers also say to “pack your purse” because you never know when a random object could make you a winner.

A new element this year gives you a free blackout card for bringing a case of bottled water for the Springhill Fire Department. While you are limited to one blackout card per player, feel free to bring as many cases of water as you can.

“Come out and learn more about our organization. Lots of chances to win. We look forward to seeing you Saturday night in Springhill,” Lewis added.
