A young boy who called 911 may have saved his mother’s life.

Eric Shane Scott, 43, of the 1300 block of Blue Run Rd., Minden, has been arrested by Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies for domestic abuse battery with strangulation and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said late Sunday afternoon, Sgt. Scott Herrington was dispatched to the Blue Run Road address on a domestic call.

“When he arrived, he met the victim who stated she and Eric Scott got into a fight, and he put her on the ground with his hands around her neck,” Parker said. “She told the deputy she could not breathe, and she had bloody fingerprints on her neck and a scratch on her forehead. There was also dried blood on the left side of her head.”

Parker said the victim’s 12-year-old son was present during the incident, and she reportedly gave permission for the deputy to question him.

“He said he was hiding in the bathroom, and when he peeked out, he saw Scott on top of his mother, who was on the floor,” said the sheriff. “He called 911.”

The sheriff said Herrington arrested Scott on the above charges and advised the victim to obtain a restraining order.
