
Lakeside ladies grab lead in sixth for victory over Castor
Lady Warriors nabbed the lead late in the game in a 16-15 victory over Castor Saturday. The game was tied at 15 with Lady Warriors batting in the bottom of the sixth when Lexi Wood grounded out, scoring one run.
Lady Warriors was boosted by Mackenzie McCoy who went 5-for-5 at the plate. McCoy doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, singled in the third, and doubled in the fifth.
Castor opened up scoring in the first inning, when A Myers drew a walk, scoring one run.
After Castor scored four runs in the top of the second, Lady Warriors answered with four of their own. Castor scored when McCoy induced K Shirley to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and Myers singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Lakeside then answered when McKenna Chreene doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, McCoy singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Rainie Hughes drew a walk, scoring one run.
Lady Warriors notched nine runs in the third inning. The big bats were led by Chreene, Hughes, Wood, Chreene and McCoy, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Castor scored four runs in the fifth inning. Shirley, E Keel and J Braggs each drove in runs during the inning.
McCoy led things off on the rubber for Lakeside. McCoy lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and 14 runs while striking out three.
Keel toed the rubber for Castor. The pitcher went four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out six. A Collinsworth threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Lady Warriors tallied one home run on the day. Chreene had a long ball in the third inning.
Lakeside totaled 14 hits in the game. McCoy, Hallie Sutton, Chreene and Wood each managed multiple hits for Lady Warriors. McCoy went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead in hits.
Castor racked up 11 hits on the day. Shirley, Myers, and Keel all managed multiple hits for Castor. Castor tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Myers led the way with four.
Lakeside Lady Warriors knock off Haynesville
Four hits from McKenna Chreene helped lead Lady Warriors past Haynesville 20-5 on Saturday. Chreene singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the second, and homered in the fourth.
Lady Warriors earned the victory despite allowing Haynesville to score three runs in the second inning. Haynesville’s big inning was driven by a walk by #14, a single by #2, and a fielder’s choice by #15.

Lady Warriors defeated North Webster 13-2 on Friday thanks to a timely seven runs in a big first inning. Karrigan Davis, Meredith Robinson, Rainie Hughes, Paiton Levesque, and McKenna Chreene all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Lady Warriors got on the board in the first inning. Davis drew a walk, scoring one run.
Chreene led things off in the circle for Lady Warriors. The ace allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.
C Campbell started the game for North Webster. The hurler lasted one and one-third innings, allowing three hits and eight runs while striking out one. E Newsom threw three innings in relief.
