Horseshoe Loop boil advisory still in effect

Residents of Horseshoe Loop in south Webster Parish are currently under a boil advisory, but it may not be for much longer..

According to Brian Williams, Director of Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security, the entire Horseshoe Road Water System failed late last week.

“It affected 85 homes,” Williams said. “They lost both pumps – they have two pumps and two wells – but they were able to get one of the pumps back up and running Friday.”

Webster Parish Fire District 3, located at 349 Main Street in Doyline, assisted with distributing drinking water to those affected by the outage.

“At that point, we stopped giving out nonpotable water,” Williams said. “And we continued for one more day on the emergency drinking water because the system was back up. It’s just under a boil advisory.”

Both pumps are now operational, however, the boil advisory is still in effect.
