Two parish softball teams win first round of playoffs

With Kylie on the mound, Minden Tiders shut out Franklinton
Kylie Ryan threw a gem on Monday for Minden Tiders, allowing zero runs and besting Franklinton by a score of 2-0
The pitching was strong on both sides. Ryan struck out 14, while B Skylar sat down six.
A single by S Rayanna in the fourth inning was a positive for Franklinton.
Ryan toed the rubber for Minden Tiders. The hurler went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out 14.
Skylar led things off on the rubber for Franklinton. Skylar lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one.
Jacey Adams, Gabby Morrison, Taryn Tinsley, and Ryan each collected one hit to lead Minden Tiders Varsity. Minden Tiders Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Adams had the most chances in the field with 14.

Lady Tiders will play Brusly in Baton Rouge Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Lakeside’s Lady Warriors will move on in the playoffs after defeating Centerville 16 to 1 Monday during the first round

Lakeside plays Vinton at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
