Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies, in conjunction with Shreveport Police, arrested a Tennessee woman Friday around mid-morning on U.S. Hwy. 371 at Dixie Inn.
Candace Lunz-Reed, 49, of Memphis, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute.
“We conducted an investigatory traffic stop of her U-Haul truck,” Sheriff Jason Parker said. “Deputies requested consent to search, which was denied.”
Webster Parish K-9 deputy Preacher alerted to the truck.
“A search of the U-Haul yielded 86 pounds of high grade marijuana in three suitcases,” Parker said. “At $100 a gram, we are thinking around $450,000 in street value.”
Parker said the investigation is ongoing, so the charges may change.
“Multiple agencies working together in our parishes is rewarding,” Parker said.
