Minden joined forces again to raise funds for local business owner Joe Morgan, on Saturday night, June 17, at Under Dawgs Sports Bar and Grill on Main Street.  

Morgan was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma- a type of cancer that affects plasma cells.  

“Under Dawgs promoted this benefit fundraiser honoring Joe Morgan for more than two weeks,” said owner Claudine Thomas. “We had a goal in mind, but typical Minden supporting Minden, the amount raised was two and a half times that amount.” 

This raffle brought in tons of people and even more money that will be used to assist the Morgan family during this cancer journey. Between the food sold that day, donations made, raffles and the silent auction, $15,258.95 was raised.  

“Lunch sales were double our largest day in our almost two-year history,” said Thomas. “Wow! I personally had to fight back tears of joy after we realized what the total was. Just an enormous amount of love this little town has for each other. We are so blessed to be a part of it.”
