Exhibitor uses art to deal with disease

City Artworks, downtown Minden, is hosting a reception and exhibit for local artist Ben Ware from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at 701 Main Street.

Ware moved to Minden from Bossier City in 1995. He attended Minden High School where he took art classes from Mrs. Sandra Brown.

Always creating and enjoying art of all types, Ware resumed his passion for art in 2017 as a means to deal with Multiple Sclerosis. Having drifted in and out of artistic styles and mediums, he presently mixes and blends elements to create whatever he’s feeling at the time.

“I like colors, shapes and abstracts at this time and my emotions and music have a huge influence in what I create,” he said.

Currently, Ware is the resident disc jockey and in-house artist for the record label Saturo Sounds and has created 12 album covers for them over the past 2 years.

His exhibit will be at City Art Works through August 31.
