A Webster Parish man is dead, and the woman who allegedly killed him is behind bars.
Chandrika C. Shehee, 23, of the 6100 block of Hwy. 531in Heflin, has been charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of Tyrone Winzer.
Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said his office received the call just after midnight Wednesday.
“It was a domestic situation at that address, and one of the females who lives across the street came over and shot him with a 9 mm handgun,” Parker said. “She told investigators she was trying to protect her family. He (Winzer) was unarmed.”
Two witnesses identified Shehee as the shooter.
The sheriff said Winzer had a history of domestic violence, however, “Ms. Shehee had other options.”
This information has been provided by a law enforcement agency as public information. Persons named as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
