Minden Police have arrested a local man for fighting and stabbing a victim.

Shavenskie Demond Ferrell, 42, of the 600 block of Horton St., Minden, is charged with aggravated second degree battery.

Police Chief Jared McIver said the victim allegedly arrived at the Horton Street address to return a key and a fight ensued.

“Ferrell threw the victim out of the home, but the victim used his key to try and unlock the door,” McIver said. “Ferrell opened the door brandishing a kitchen knife.”

The chief said during the ensuing fight, Ferrell stabbed the victim 3 times with 2 separate knives.

“It is believed Ferrell retrieved the second knife, a silver pocket knife from his waistband while on the ground,” McIver said. “Ferrell made no attempt to disengage or call for authorities prior to arming himself before opening the door.”
