Wolves finish season with win

Due to wet field conditions at Webster the Wolves were forced to play their final game at Lakeside high school. The 8th grade team put on a grand finale with a convincing 38-7 win over the Elm Grove Eagles.

The Wolves’ offensive line led by Braylon Ferrell, LeTarrance Goldston & Tikendrick Jenkins held off the blitzing linebackers all night. Javon Calloway scored the wolves first touchdown on a 25 yard run. The Wolves’ next score came on a 4th down pass from Jaden Johnson to Bennet Speer. After the 2-point conversion, the Wolves went into the half with a 14-7 lead.

At the start of the second half, Markell Miller took the kick-off back for a 55-yard touchdown. The Wolves’ next two touchdowns came on a 50-yard pass from Bennett Speer to Jaden Johnson and a 40-yard run by Marquan Miller. 

The Wolves’ defense racked up 4 interceptions on the night! Markell Miller had 2 INTs, Lucas Owens Jr and Abreon Curry also had 1 INT apiece in the game. Holt Holliday, Nekeya Harden, JaQuarion Martin and Tyqaurious Turkington helped control the run game all night holding Elm Grove to only 3 first downs. The Wolves’ 8th grade team finished the season 7-1. They outscored their opponents 220-21 in their 7 wins. Their only loss was a close 22-14 game against North Desoto. 

The 7th grade team came up one point short against the Eagles in a tight 28-27 game. Kaiden King threw two touchdown passes to Will Brown and Broxton Oestrich. The Wolves also had two rushing touchdowns From King and Oestrich. Jontavious Anderson, Ian Clark and Mason Hart led the team in tackles. The defense forced two fumbles on the night. The 7th grade finished the season 4-4. Go Wolves!
