8:30 a.m. Central Elementary School. Guest speaker: retired chaplain Keith Adcock; YCP- presentation of colors; Fifth grade students will be reading essays. Family, friends retired and current service members are invited to attend.

Saturday, Nov. 11

8 a.m. Community Prayer Breakfast, Pine Grove Methodist Church, 4549 La. Hwy. 159, Minden.

8 a.m. VFW Post 2885 and Auxiliary will be having a Buddy Poppy drive and bake sale at Walmart beginning at 8 a.m. until all sold. The money raised at this event will go to help veterans in the area.
