New subdivision gives tours with grand opening

By Paige Nash

Millwood Landing held a grand opening ceremony Tuesday and those who attended received an exclusive tour of the newly-developed subdivision.

“The ribbon cutting went well and we have several prospects interested in purchasing,” said Vice-President of B1 Bank turned real estate developer Micah Hanson. “To date we have sold 6 lots and 46 remain available.”

Of those six lots already reserved, one house is already under construction.

“Construction is well underway for our first homeowner. I would anticipate a move-in date next spring,” said Hanson.

One of the perks of this new homestead is the location, conveniently located minutes away from both Interstate 20 and Highway 80.

Another strong selling point for Millwood Landing is that it is located outside of the city limits, which means lower taxes and utility costs.

Electricity will be provided by Entergy. Centerpoint will be providing natural gas and Dixie Overland Water System will be the available water system.

“The project is mostly complete,” said Hanson. “The roadway, water-system and gas-line construction is finished. Entergy is wrapping up things on the electrical grid and streetlamps. We’ll have some cosmetic work to do after Entergy moves out.”

The overall layout of the subdivision includes 52 lots ranging in size from 1 to 2 acres with a green space, a beautiful entrance and asphalt roads throughout. The lots are being sold for approximately $60,000 per acre.
