One of the Minden Police Department’s special officers got a mouthful of a wanted suspect Saturday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of a local man who has been the object of a search relating to a home burglary.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Kendrick Dudley inside a residence in the 600 block of Morrow St. on an outstanding warrant for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, Chief of Police Jared McIver reported.

McIver said officers had been looking for Dudley to serve the warrant when his vehicle was located,  parked at the Morrow St. residence around 3 p.m. Saturday. The homeowner reportedly told officers the suspect was inside, but he refused to come out despite several requests.

“When the suspect refused to come out of the dwelling, officers went to obtain a search warrant while others remained to secure the perimeter,” McIver said. “Our SRT (Special Response Team) executed the search warrant and made entry along with K9 Tigo.”

Tigo reportedly located the suspect hidden in a closet in the rear of the home. Dudley reportedly was bitten while being forced from his hiding place. EMS was dispatched to the scene and Dudley reportedly was transported for medical treatment for the bites.
