Springhill gears up for Mardi Gras celebration

Springhill is gearing up for its annual Mardi Gras on Main celebration.

Amie Poladian, director of the Springhill Main Street program said the fun begins at 5 p.m. Friday, January 26 at the corner of Elm and Main streets in Springhill.

“We will have food trucks and tents, caricature drawings, face painting, balloon art, cotton candy carts and light up toys, a DJ- and who knows- maybe even a little street dancing,” Poladian said.

The parade will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

“We have motorcyclists, floats, horseback riders, plenty of walkers and riders. Vehicles will be throwing candy and beads,” she added.

Anyone and everyone is encouraged to walk or ride in the parade.

“It’s free to enter and they can contact us at this email address, on the Springhill Main Street FB page, in person at the Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce building, or by call or text at (318)578-3909,” the director said.
