Lakeside 11, Doyline 3

Lakeside defeated Doyline Panthers Saturday, thanks in part to six runs in the second inning.

The Warriors were the first to get on the board in the first when Jon Jon Dick singled, scoring one run.

The Panthers captured the lead 301 in the bottom of the first after Dakota Steward hit into a fielder’s choice, Zach Normand singled and Lakeside committed an error, each scoring one run.

Lakeside flipped the game on its head in the top of the second scoring six runs on six hits to take a 7-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Matthew Aguilera that drove in two.

Lakeside piled up 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Jordan Isbell led Lakeside with three hits in three at-bats. Eli Santelices collected two hits for Lakeside in two at-bats. Lakeside turned one double play in the game.

Benton Bates stepped on the hill first for Doyline. The righty gave up eight hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Sutton began the game for Lakeside. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Noah Spears, Benton Bates, Normand and Cayden Mingo each collected one hit for Doyline. Stewart and Normand each drove in one run for Doyline and the Panthers turned one double play in the game.

Hunter Sutton earned the win for the Warriors.He allowed two hits and three runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Glenbrook 5, Cedar Creek 4

Glenbrook Apaches took Saturday’s game in dramatic fashion with a 5-4 walk off victory over the Cougars. The Apaches were down 4-3 in the bottom of the third inning when Tony Flynn Tripled, scoring 2 runs.

Easton Sanders started the game for Glenbrook. They surrendered two hits and four runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking four. Flynn pitched one inning of no-run ball for Glenbrook in relief.

Flynn, Eli Still, Sanders and Carson Powell each collected one hit for the Apaches. Flynn went 1-for-1 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in.

Glenbrook Apaches 0, Loyola Flyers 3

Both teams were strong on the mound Saturday, but Loyola Flyers was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their victory of Glenbrook.

Sam Ricord started the game for Glenbrook and recorded six outs. He also took the loss for the Apaches. The righty went two innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking one.

Lakeside 11, North Webster 6

Lakeside Warriors were victorious against NorthWebster Knights 11-6 Saturday.

Lakeside opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two round outs. They got on the board first when Jon Jon Dick grounded out, scoring one run. They added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Peyton Gray singled and Dick tripled, each scoring a run.

The Knights flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 6-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tyler Brown that drove in three.

The Warriors returned the favor in the top of the third, scoring seven runs on four hits to take a 11-6 lead. Jake Glass hit a single and drove in two.

Dick earned the win for Lakeside. The righty gave up three hits and six runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking five. Preston Ingle took the loss for the Knights. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, allowing 11 runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out one and walking four. Brock Case tossed one inning of zero-run ball for the Warriors in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking one.

Lakeside tallied 10 hits in the game. Gray and Hunter Sutton each collected two hits for Lakeside. Dick provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Lakeside with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Eli Santelices stole two bases.

Brown drove the middle of the lineup. Leading North Webster with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-1 on the day. Cayden Bernard, Aiden Woodall and Brown each collected one hit for the Knights. Ingle paced North Webster with two walks. Overall the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. They also stole four bases.

Minden 3, Doyline 2

Doyline Panthers fell 3-2 to Minden Saturday, despite out-hitting them three to zero.

Both teams were strong on the hill. Minden pitchers struck out five, while Doyline sat down one.

The Panthers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Doyline first got on the board when Dakota Stewart singled, scoring one run.

Hudson Brown grounded out, which helped Minden tie the game at two in the bottom of the second. A tag up by Parker Salas gave Minden the lead, 3-2 in the bottom of the third.

Austin Arbaugh led things off on the hill for the Panthers. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking two. Zander Rowell opened the game for Minden. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.

Stewart went 1-for-2 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in.

Jaxon Smith and Brown each drove in one run for Minden. Minden was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Brown made the most plays with five.
