More drugs mean more jail time for Moore

A Minden man wanted on an active felony warrant is now facing additional drug-related charges after he was spotted and detained by an MPD patrol officer on the grounds of a local motel early Monday morning

Kenyaskey W. Moore, 39, was looking at an aggravated battery charge with a $10,000 surety bond when MPD Sgt. Chris Cayer spotted him just before 3:45 a.m., Chief of Police Jared McIver said. Moore reportedly tried to use a false name at the time of the stop, but he was positively identified.

McIver said Moore was placed in custody and searched, where suspected illegal drugs were found on his person inside a cigarette package.

Additional charges against Moore include possession of CDS Sch. II (crack cocaine), possession of CDS Sch. II (Methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer.

McIver said Moore has been transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
