MPD nabs one on possession of illegal narcotics

Failing to obey traffic laws has led to more serious charges for a Minden man after a variety of illegal narcotics were found in his possession after he was pulled over by police May 25.

Cordero Louis Heard, 36, a resident of the 500 block of High St., is currently being held in Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center following his arrest, Chief of Police Jared McIver said.

Heard reportedly was stopped on Moore St. just after 7:30 p.m. where officers reportedly noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected Ecstasy pills, and officers found more drugs during a further search of the suspect, McIver said.

He is facing charges of possession CDS Sch. I (Ecstasy), possession CDS Sch. I (marijuana), possession of Legend drug, driving under suspension and traffic violations.
