Lakeside Varsity Warriors defeat Minden

Lakeside Varsity Warriors topped Minden 8-4 on Monday. Lakeside Varsity Warriors opened the scoring in the first after Drake Chreene singled, scoring two runs. A walk by Noah Redding extended the Lakeside Varsity Warriors lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Lakeside Varsity Warriors added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Peyton Campbell grounded out, and Kaleb Rolen doubled, each scoring one run. Chreene started the game for Lakeside Varsity Warriors. The righty surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking three.
Minden’s starting pitcher surrendered six hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out six and walking seven. Redding appeared in relief for Lakeside Varsity Warriors. Chreene drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lakeside Varsity Warriors with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Lakeside Varsity Warriors had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Jake Glass and Redding led the team with two walks each. Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but Minden was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 1-0 victory over Lakeside Varsity Warriors. Eli Campbell started the game for Lakeside Varsity Warriors and recorded six outs. Minden took an early lead in the second inning when Campbell induced one to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Minden’s pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking two. Campbell took the loss for Lakeside Varsity Warriors. The right-handed pitcher went two innings, surrendering one run on four hits, striking out none and walking one. Jake Glass, Peyton Gray, and Hayden Williams each collected one hit for Lakeside Varsity Warriors. Jon Jon Dick stole two bases. Lakeside Varsity Warriors turned one double play in the game. Lakeside Varsity Warriors were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dick had the most chances in the field with six. Two players collected two hits for Minden.
The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Minden were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
