A local man who apparently didn’t like what he discovered on a female companion’s cell phone now finds himself calling the parish prison home and facing a charge of domestic abuse.
Minden Chief of Police Jared McIver said officers responded to a disturbance call shortly after midnight Sunday and found a couple arguing outside a Clerk St. residence.
“The female subject told our officers the suspect became upset about something he saw in her phone and began hitting her multiple times with a closed fist,” McIver said. “When he began hitting her, she ran outside the residence. Our officers noticed visible lumps on her head.”
McIver said Larry Dyess Cook, 20, a resident of the 100 block of Clerk St., is housed in Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center facing a charge of domestic abuse with child endangerment.
“Officers learned the male subject’s sister and her three young children were inside the residence at the time he started hitting the victim,” McIver said.
