
It may be burning hot outside, but if you’re up for it, you aren’t prohibited from setting fire to your burn pile just yet.
Minden Fire Chief and Webster Parish Homeland Security Director Brian Williams said despite the lack of recent rain, he doesn’t expect to issue a burn ban until or unless the Fire Chiefs Association asks for one.
“We are just now in the abnormally dry intensity of the U.S. Drought Monitor,” Williams said Thursday. “We have not experienced any uptick in grass/woods fires across the parish as of yet.”
He continues to urge caution with any outdoor fires with the high temperatures.
