When I look back over my younger days, there were times I went places and got lost because I failed to look up the directions. I was just lost.. Now how did I expect to get to my destination when I didn’t get directions nor listen to wise instructions! I was not prepared, I was just wasting gas and time.   

Do you know where you’re going?

When I think about this from a spiritual perspective, my mind thinks about Heaven (eternal life).  Do we know where we are going? Because of Jesus Christ I have the blessed assurance to know where I’m going. 

John 3:16-17

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

What is eternal life?

Those who put their faith in Christ can know, for sure, that they have eternal life. This blessed assurance comes by trusting what we know of the life of Jesus Christ, as well as the evidence of the Holy Spirit within us.

When the Bible speaks of eternal life, it refers to a gift of God that comes only “through Jesus Christ our Lord”

Are we listening to God’s messengers? Are we reading the instructions book, which is the word of God daily? Are we prepared for the travel? Are we learning how to be prepared?

Do you know where you’re going?

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for your grace and mercy. Forgive us for our sins known and unknown. Lord, help us to  know where we are going. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
