On a brisk Friday night in Plain Dealing, the Glenbrook Apaches, sporting a 3-1 record, rolled into town with confidence, ready to face off against the struggling Plain Dealing Lions. The Apaches would tame the Lions by a score of 63-0.

From the opening kickoff, the Apaches showcased their powerful offense and tenacious defense. The “Red Rifle,” Quarterback Easton Sanders, was sharp from the start. He completed 6 of 10 passes for 153 yards, including two touchdown strikes that left the Lions’ secondary reeling. His ability to read the field and deliver precise throws ignited the Apache attack.

The highlight of the first quarter came from the feet of Sonic Seth Mangrum, who lived up to his name. With just three carries, Seth rushed for an astonishing 110 yards, breaking through tackles and darting down the sideline for a touchdown from 52 yards that electrified the Apache sideline.

Cade “Vicious” Vining was equally impressive, carrying the ball just twice but amassing 56 yards and finding the end zone twice. His explosive running style kept the Lions’ defense on their heels, and they struggled to contain his power and deceiving speed.

Sanders’ favorite targets, “Rowdy” Ryan Reagan and “Dime” Darron Hollingsworth, both made their mark in the game. Reagan caught two passes for 62 yards, including a spectacular touchdown reception that showcased his speed and route-running ability. Hollingsworth added two receptions for 39 yards, securing a touchdown that further widened the gap. Dime also showcased his running ability as he called his own number at QB. With a quick spin move, he left the Lion defender with his britches around his ankles as Hollingsworth moved the chains!

On the defensive side, the Apaches were relentless. Connor Bolton made a crucial interception early in the game, snuffing out any hopes of a Lions first down. But the real highlight came from Ryder Malone, who picked off a pass and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown to finish the game. From Malone’s interception, the score had ballooned to an astonishing 63-0. The Lions, despite their efforts, couldn’t find any rhythm against the relentless Glenbrook defense. Kleaton Davis added two touchdowns, in great playing time.  Hayden Hammett and The Beast, Carson Whitehead also found great rhythm running the football.

This was an impressive full team win. Although Plain Dealing struggles with numbers from game to game, that didn’t deter the Apaches from taking care of business. Next week is the fun-filled Homecoming week as your Apaches will face off against the Arcadia Hornets in hopes of keeping the streak alive in Div 1-1A. Let’s all fill the stands and celebrate our seniors and wonderful homecoming court at The Brook next Friday at 7 p.m.!

IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE AN APACHE!!!
