T.L. Construction LLC was awarded an upcoming street improvements project for the City of Minden during the council’s regular meeting Monday.

The Alexandria, La.-based company had the lowest bid meeting all specifications with a bid of $850,190. The next closest bidder was Benton and Brown with $896,550.

Projects include Woodhaven Drive from Lewisville Road to dead end (including Jennifer Circle, Laurel Circle and Kitchens Court);

Guy Miller Road from Germantown Road to Minden City Limits;

East and West Street from Lewisville Road to Elm Street; and,

Mignon Street from Talton to East Union streets.

Also during the meeting, the council amended the budget in order to purchase property on Recreation Drive.

They also approved the following agenda items unanimously:

• Authority to advertise for bids for one new 55-foot bucket truck;

• Adopt ordinance for annual bridge maintenance report;

• Adopt resolution for annual certification for compliance with State of Louisiana Off-System Bridge Replacement Program;

• Adopt resolution requesting that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Division of Aviation provide funds required to complete the airport improvements at Minden Airport specifically as described in the Capital Improvement Program application for the State Financial Assistance dated September 2024;

• Budget/Financial report for August 2024;

• Fire report for September 2024; and,

• Police report for August 2024.
